This is a fun beach to explore at low tide, but be warned at high tide it may not be passable. Also note that this is an isolated spot and popular nude beach during the afternoons, but mornings are safe.

Redwood Regional Park - West Ridge Trail, Oakland, California
Stream Trail is a nice flat stretch in shaded valley, but returning north at southern end of hike is a strenuous uphill climb on the West Ridge Trail, only partially shaded. Best to avoid on hot days.

Harry Allen Trail & Eldgridge Grade - Marin Water District
This is a somewhat strenuous hike with only a few flat stretches, we spent about 3 hours on the trail, but also took a slightly different route than map shows at end to climb back up to Crown Road where cars were parked, but that trail is not on Google Maps currently. Also despite being strenuous, is otherwise a good hike for sunny weather as there's only a few sections with full direct sunlight.

Azalea Hill to Bon Tempe Lake, Marin County, California
Recent flooding closed the access road to Bon Tempe Lake Trailhead at Bon Tempe Dam, so we parked at the Azalea Hill Trailhead and hiked south to the Bon Tempe Lake Trailhead where you normally may park. We did a loop hike from there, and using the Marin Water District Maps there are lots of options to extend.

John McLaren Park, San Francisco, California
McLaren Park is another popular dog park, the central area within the John F. Shelley Drive loop is off-leash and features a pond where dogs are welcome to swim. It's not a huge space but lots of fun to explore, about a mile loop around the central area of the park.
