Jacob Hamblin Park, Kanab, Utah

We visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah and managed to get some hikes in town as well.  We drove out behind Jacob Hamlin Park and then hiked up the cliffs.

Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada

We stopped here on our way from Los Angeles to Kanab to visit Best Friends, some fun trails to explore with petroglyphs but we got into trouble with a cactus and some needles in our snout...

Turtle Wall Trail, St. George, Utah

We stopped here for a short hike on our way back to Los Angeles from visiting Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.  Was a fun hike and cool in winter but watch out for snakes and critters.

Shell Ridge Open Space, Walnut Creek, California

Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area and Shell Ridge Open Space are fun places to explore near Walnut Creek.  It goes through grazing pastures so watch out for cows.

Stern Grove & Pine Lake Park, San Francisco, California

Another super popular off-leash dog park in San Francisco, also connected to Pine Lake where coyotes can be found sometimes, but still one of favorite spots.  A nice two mile walk if you do the perimeter.

Pedro Point, San Mateo County, California

This is a short hike out to the coast from Devil's Slide, at the end you're rewarded with views of the coast and Pacifica and beyond.

Bernal Heights Park, San Francisco, California

Popular off-leash dog park in San Francisco with great views of the city and bay.
